There is a way you can enjoy your gym members and by doing that you can enjoy your fitness business more.

It only takes a few minutes each day but most fitness entrepreneurs miss it because they are focused on the wrong things.

So what should you be focused on?

Well in this post I’m going to cover that and hopefully you will get a few nuggets that will help you.

Do you remember why your started your gym or fitness business?

Can you recall what made you so eager to help people get in the best shape of their lives?

I bet it was something more than making a buck or being the biggest gym in town.

Here are a few reason I got into fitness:

  1. I wanted to help those with handicaps feel welcome in the gym environment.
  2. I wanted to work a business that would help me stay in shape.
  3. I wanted to help people with low self confidence overcome limiting beliefs.
  4. I wanted to build a business that would pay me a residual income.
  5. I wanted to  be a positive influence in my community.

If any of those resonate with you,  then this post  may help  you  remember your  “WHY”.

But if your facing major setbacks due to a slow business then you need to make the best out  of  a  bad situation instead of feeling sorry for yourself.

How To Start Enjoying Your Gym Members & Fall In Love With Your Business  All Over Again

Ok…. so let us assume you are  in business  for all the right reasons and that you are ready to get fired back up.

The first thing I want you to do,  is look around your gym  and “SEE” your members.

I mean REALLY see them for who they are.

They are moms and dads, sisters and brother, friends and foes.

They are real people with real hopes, dreams, fears just like you.

Being able to really see them makes all the difference.


Because until you learn this skill you will continue treating them like a number which will lead to burn out.

You see, people don’t want to be treated like cattle. They can feel it when you just look at them like a paycheck.

So how do switch gears and get your mind right?

Well,  here are a few things you can do to reconnect with your members and your passion.

If your WHY is BIG enough –  the HOW will figure it self out.

Write out all the reasons you decided to start your gym or fitness business. Don’t worry about making it  look or sound “pretty”.

Just write down what comes to heart and mind.

This step will reveal whats in your heart.

“Out of your heart flows  the  rivers of  life”.

You may be  thinking  one thing, but be acting out  of a completely different subconscious motive.

The most successful gym owners I have worked with,  love and treat their members like family.

Just like the stereotypes in this video, your  club  has  a set of member  personalities that  all fit jointly into your business making  up your club environment.

HINT: Your members happiness should be one of your  biggest “whys”.

Once you have a “Why” list we can move to the next step.

Blaze Your Trail

Now take a long hard look at your “Why List” and you can see where you are  heading.

Sometimes this step can be a painful  and scary process  for  my  clients,   because they may not like where we are heading….

…other times this can be an exciting process.

It really just depends on the type of person you are.

Is your path moving you closer or further away from your goals?

Are you happy with your path?

Give More Than You Get

Your staff and  your  members are watching how much  of  yourself  you are giving  each  day…

…are you giving 10 %

…are you giving 50%

…is your  heart even in it anymore?

Little Mini-Me’s of you, your  attitude and  business philosophies.

SO… if you are negative around  your members,  most likely your staff will be too.

If your positive and happy,  then they will be happy  as  well.

  • Charity Boot Camp
  • Member of the Month
  • Birthday Program
  • Membership Scholarships

The important thing is to remember to ” under promise and over deliver”.

The best way to do this is to “treat your members the way YOU want to be treated”.

All change in Life  comes instantly, when you DECIDE in your heart to grow beyond what seems possible you will find  the motivation, wisdom and mentor ship to achieve your vision.
